Decals & Ceramic Transfers

Apply your favorite artwork to coffee mugs, guitars, book covers, candles, appliances, keepsake boxes and more. Do it in your own home or business!

With these incredible inkjet papers and films, it almost seems 'miraculous' when one sees some of the operations and creative tasks that a common, inkjet printer can do. Print your favorite image of Jesus Christ or the Virgin Mary on specialized, decal paper and then apply it to a variety of surfaces.

Decals, easily printed on most inkjet printers, can be acquired in different forms from many different office-supply and art-supply businesses, and also Amazon.  Decal paper comes in three mediums: plastic based, ceramic based, or cloth based. Depending on which surface you want your decal on determines the type of decal paper you use.

Decals generally come in three application formats: rub-on, water slide and heat activated. These three methods of adhering decals are applicable for virtually all non-porous, smooth surfaces.

Regarding ceramic-based decals, for example, the paper is actually embedded with ceramic particles, which means you are virtually adding to the ceramic piece itself (like a coffee mug).  You might check out Inkjetart Micro Ceramic papers for a variety of textured finishes.  Make sure to check all offerings to see whether they are waterproof and dishwasher proof (in many cases they will be but do a dummy check).

Finally, always examine the manufacturer’s details and instructions to find the type of decal that will work best for your application and, mostly, for the substrate or surface upon which you will apply your decals.
