Veni Sponsi Christi

An antique illustration showing several beautifully dressed women in white preparing to take their vows to become Catholic nuns. The title of the piece is Latin for Come, the Bride of Christ, which means the spouse of a nun is no man on earth, but only Christ Himself.

Note the elderly nun in the background representing one who has already made the lifetime commitment that the young ladies in the image are about to make.
