Adoration of the Kings – Utrecht

Gaspar, Malchior, and Balthasar (the three Magi) present gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the Infant King on Epiphany Day. The Blessed Mother sits on a chair, on the road leading to the town of Bethlehem, holding the Child Jesus in her arms. One of the Kings kneels, taking the Child's hand. The King's golden vessel is opened on the ground before him. The other two Kings stand, holding their golden vessels, and awaiting their turns to kneel before Christ. People congregate in the street behind Christ and His adorers. A single star shines in the dusky-blue sky.
